Coalition Meetings

Our mission is to Collaborate among the partners to build the continuum of programs and services needed to address the prevention and intervention of and recovery from substance abuse and addiction in Blair County. The meetings are open to all professionals and concerned citizens who are interested in working together for the betterment of the community.

Blair County Drug and Alcohol Program, Inc. does its work through its Governing Board and staff, along with BDAP, a community anti-drug coalition BDAP make recommendations to the Governing Board regarding delivery of drug and alcohol prevention, intervention and recovery services in the County of Blair.

Partnership Meeting

Partnership Advisory Board promotes a collaboration of partnerships to support a continuum of programs and services to address the prevention and intervention of substance use and addiction issues and recovery within Blair County; as well as provide recommendations to the Governing Board on the planning, coordinating, and administration of services.

Youth League

Mission: Providing positive alternative activities for at risk youth in Blair County

Youth League provides drug and alcohol free activities for youth and their families. Some examples include:
*Pittsburgh Zoo
*Delgrosso's Picnic
*Curve Games
*Annual Christmas Party
*Car Wash
*Family Friendly Movie Nights

Youth League continuously fundraises to be able to host these events for the youth.

Committee to Prevent DUI and Underage Drinking (CPDUD)

Mission: Implementing strategies and activities to reduce alcohol use by youth and prevent driving under the influence

CPDUD participates in the annual National Night Out Against Crime community event focused on building positive community relationships and providing information on DUIs and underage drinking. They've also focused on a Sticker Shock campaign addressing social hosting through billboards, radio ads, and stickers placed on products in local beer distribution locations. Throughout the year, members create, distribute, and promote educational information relating to the prevention of DUIs and underage drinking in Blair County.

Rise for Recovery

Mission: Provide hope to those who are still untreated; Educate the public on the disease of addiction and that it is treatable; Provide awareness that people in recovery are living a productive, happy life; Facilitate partnerships and resources that support recovery and improve the quality of life; Recognize and strengthen the different pathways of recovery; and Advocate for a community that facilitates recovery.

Rise for Recovery hosts events throughout the year including:
*Arts in Recovery
*Candle Light Vigil
*Annual Recovery Walk

During Recovery Month, they host an annual picnic and this past year hosted a virtual selfie event to highlight recovery.

Education Committee

Mission: Educating residents of Blair County on substance abuse issues related to prevention, intervention and recovery

Education Committee collaborates with organizations within the community to increase residents' knowledge on substance abuse issues. Members work together to create, distribute, and promote flyers, newsletters, presentations, and more relating to prevention, intervention, and recovery. They also provide feedback on the development of various campaigns for billboards, radio advertisements, brochures and more.
